4.5.41 Rehabilitation at Home
WorkSafe can pay the reasonable costs of Rehabilitation at Home when required as a result of a work-related An injury/disease is work related if it arose out of or in the course of employment and the scope of employment. injury or illness. This service aims to facilitate an early discharge from hospital, transition to home and act as an alternative to inpatient stays for workers.
Prior approval is not required for Rehabilitation at Home.
Approval will be required where the service will go beyond 8 weeks or the package will cost more than $3,000.

Please note that while meals may be paid for under the Rehabilitation at Home program (where clinically appropriate), WorkSafe does not pay for weightloss programs or food/meal replacement services. Please refer to the Dietetic Policy for any requests outside of the Rehabilitation at Home program.
